Pei returned to the Mesa Lab in 1985 for NCAR’s 25th anniversary and observed that the workspaces he created were still functioning as planned. He stated that this was proof he was right to blend complex design and functional spaces. Roberts joked back “It only proves scientists can work anywhere!”
