This week marks the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the Mesa Laboratory in Boulder. Since the dedication on May 9th and 10th, 1967, the striking building has become a feature of Boulder’s landscape, and it has been home to numerous groundbreaking studies, programs, and projects in atmospheric science, educational activities and events, public galleries, and the Walter Orr Roberts Weather Trail. Events will be held in August to commemorate the anniversary, but to learn more about the history of the Mesa Laboratory, browse through the digital collection or visit the online exhibit.
